John T. Tollefson, Albany, WI  (1925 - 2013)

John T. Tollefson, age 87, of Albany, WI, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Collinwood Elderly Care in Orfordville. He was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Orfordville, WI, the son of Ernest and Fern (Patriquen) Tollefson and graduated from Orfordville High School. John married Nancy Zimmerman on Aug. 24, 1950, in Brodhead, and later married M. June Oostdik Powers on Sept. 13, 1969, at Orfordville, and they resided in Albany. John was a member of Albany Lutheran Church, Spring Valley 4-H Club, Odd Fellows in Orfordville, was Chairman of Albany Housing Association (Riverview Apts.), and served as a Trustee on Albany Village Board. He worked as a Machinist for Varco Pruden in Evansville, until retiring in 1988, and enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Surviving are his daughter, Janelle Dummer of Madison; sister, Mary Ellen Ehle of Orfordville; son-in-law, Ross Rosemeyer; step-children: Ronald (Bernice) Powers of Madison, WI, Juanita (Bob) Wachlin of Freeport, IL, Jerry Powers of San Francisco, CA, Peggy Weston of Aitkin, MN, and Alice (Lenny) Cassity of Janesville; three grandchildren; and many step-grand and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Ernest; wife, June; and daughters, Susan Rosemeyer and LuAnn Tollefson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at ALBANY LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor Eric Jones of Orfordville Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany, WI. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the CHURCH.
