Jean Carol Gensmer, Janesville, WI  (1948 - 2013)

On Jan. 3, 2013, the Lord called Jean (Carol) Gensmer of Janesville, WI, to her heavenly home. She was born in Lancaster, WI, on July 6, 1948, the daughter of Clifford and Marie Muller. She graduated from Lancaster High School. Jean was baptized at St. Clements Catholic Church in Lancaster, where she married her high school sweetheart, Fred Gensmer on Aug. 8, 1970. Jean worked at the Estee Lauder counter at the Boston Store in Janesville for 28 years and had many loyal customers, co-workers and friends. She reluctantly retired in 2010, when she was diagnosed with cancer. Jean enjoyed gardening, going to the races and spending time with her family, friends and, especially, her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Fred; a daughter, Shelly (Roger) Swenson, and their daughter, Hayley; a son, Phillip, and his son, Jacob; her mother, Marie Muller; and her brothers, Jim (Donna) Muller of Lancaster, and Tom (Verna) Muller of Montgomery, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob (Sue) Gensmer of Janesville, and Karen (Bob) Bedward of Lancaster. Also, several aunts; uncles; as well as many cousins; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Muller on Aug. 21, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at ST. MATTHEW’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville, with Pastor Jim Janke officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH on Friday, from 10 until 11 a.m.
