David J. Van Egeren, Janesville  (1948 - 2013)

David J. Van Egeren, age 64, of Janesville, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Mercy Hospital of complications from diabetes and heart surgery. He was born in Green Bay, on Nov. 26, 1948, the son of Francis and Bernice (Burkart) Van Egeren. David served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married Donna L. Farber on Aug. 25, 1973, in Madison. He was currently employed as a project manager for Spacesaver Corporation in Fort Atkinson for the past 23 years. David, a member of First Lutheran Church, enjoyed being a handyman to many friends and neighbors – always with a willing spirit. He had a passion for woodworking, classic cars, playing pool, and reading. He also loved to spend time with family and friends, especially during the Packer and Badger football season. David enjoyed dancing with the love of his life, Donna, his wife of 39 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Chad Van Egeren of Mission Viejo, CA, and Eric Van Egeren of Milwaukee; four siblings: Ginny (Marv) Lardinois of Bay Settlement, WI, Dennis (Shirley) Van Egeren of Green Bay, Steve (Barb) Van Egeren of New Franken, WI, and Tony (Gina) Van Egeren of Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Van Egeren of Green Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Andy Van Egeren.
Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville, with Rev. James Melvin officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Madison. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY.
