Grace J. Kerr, age 82, of Jefferson, died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Sylvan Crossing in Jefferson. She was born in Waukesha, on March 29, 1930, the daughter of William and Lu (Austin) Foss. She married Raymond Kerr on June 17, 1949, in Hartland. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2008. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Northview Nursing Home in Waukesha, she was a former member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Rome and was a member of St. Mark’s EV Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Her family was a priority in her life. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet, cook, bake, make afghans and homemade dolls; she enjoyed fishing, and going to garage sales. Grace always had a project in the works, and taught her grandchildren to play 500 Rummy. She loved spending time at Buffalo Lake. There was always a full cookie jar at her house.
Grace is survived by her children: Scott (Bonnie) Kerr of Wautoma, Brian Kerr of Iola, Kyle (Carol) of Phillips, Thomas Kerr of Johnson Creek, Timothy (Laurie) Kerr of Jefferson, Linda Gallagher of Jefferson, LuAnn (Robert) Mattke of Jefferson and Dale (Lisa) Sukow of Jefferson; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Glenn) McHalsky of Eagle River and Lois Diekfuss of Coloma; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Edie Kerr; grandsons, David and Daniel Kerr; her brother, Willis Foss; and her sister, Mardell Schwarz.
Memorial services will be held at ST. MARK’S EV LUTHERAN CHURCH in Jefferson, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating. Friends may call at the CHURCH after 3:30 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests donations to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson. OLSEN FUNERAL HOME in Jefferson is assisting the family with arrangements.
