Genevieve "Gen" Frances Cadman, Evansville, WI  (1914 - 2012)

Genevieve (Gen) Frances Cadman, 98, of Evansville, passed away at the home of her son in Ridgeland, WI, Sunday, Dec. 26, 2012. Gen was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Monroe, WI, to Charles and Bertha (Odermatt) Schutt . She grew up in Monroe, WI, and graduated from Monroe High School in 1932. After high school graduation, Gen worked at First National Bank of Monroe. On Oct. 16, 1937, Gen married C. Don Cadman. The couple resided in Rockton, IL, until May 1946, when they moved to Evansville, WI. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evansville. Gen enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and spending time with her Aussie Shepherd dog “Koko”.
Gen is survived by her daughter-in-law, Stella Cadman of Waterloo, IL; daughter, Shirley Cadman of Tendoy, ID; son, Berwyn (Janelle) Cadman of Ridgeland, WI; seven grandchildren: Robert (Elaine)Cadman of Madison, WI, Charles (Jennifer) Cadman of Issaquah, WA, Darla (Dusty) Hansen of Falcon Heights, MN, Gena Cadman of St. Louis Park, MN, Kathryn (Joshua) Bergmann of Ridgeland, WI, Kristen (Steve) Cadman of Dubuque, IA, and Matthew Cadman of Howard, WI: six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Gen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Richard; brother, Hollis; sister, Dorothy; brothers-in law and sisters-in law.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH of Evansville, with Pastor Matthew Poock officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 until the time of service at the CHURCH. Burial will be at Newark Cemetery. WARD FUNERAL HOME, Evansville, is assisting the family
