Helen Minnie “Granny” Forrest, Janesville, age 91, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Neenah, at Matthews Senior Living surrounded by her family. She was born on July 14, 1921, to the late Otto and Mary Hemiller in Apple River, IL. Helen married Charles P. Howard in Darlington, WI, on Jan. 16, 1937. She then married William H. Forrest on Nov. 28, 1969, in Janesville. Helen was employed at F. W. Woolworth and was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by her grandchildren: Pam (Greg) Hurst, Sandi (Jeff) Mitchler, Randy (Lynn) Wenham, Amy Effa, Wendy Kuehne, Deb (Stan) Luety, Diane Mecca, Dawn (Mike) Banker and Chris Howard; son-in-law, Ron Wenham; 23 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and special niece, Mary Kettle. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her children: Robert Howard and Nancy Wenham; her granddaughter’s husband, Dean Effa; four sisters; and two brothers.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at CARGILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2000 Wesley Ave., Janesville, beginning at 9a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev.
