James R. "Plugger" Plautz, Edgerton, WI  (1955 - 2013)

James R. "Plugger" Plautz, 57, of Edgerton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Dec. 13, 1955, in Edgerton, son of Maurine (McQuade) Plautz and the late Rollie "Puggy" Plautz. He was a 1974 graduate of Edgerton High School. He was united in marriage to Christy Ark, on June 29, 1996, in Edgerton. Plugger owned and operated the Red Barron Bar and Grill, in Edgerton for 28 years. He enjoyed snowmobiling and going up north to Rhinelander, enduro racing- #43, speed skating, watching NASCAR with his friends, playing pool and hunting. He loved his children, Jimmie and Jana dearly, and devoted most of his life ensuring for their happiness and well being. He was the past president of the Sun Downers Snowmobile Club and a member of the Wisconsin Tavern League. Plugger loved the Edgerton community and was very supportive and generous towards its needs.
Plugger is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Christy; twins, Jimmie and Jana; mother, Maurine Plautz; sister, Linda Huebner, all of Edgerton; brothers: Don Plautz of Janesville, Richard (Nancy) Plautz of Milton and Philip (JoAnn) Plautz of Kansas City, MO; nieces and nephews: Jessi Neitzel, Kyle, Anna, Marah, and Niles Plautz. In addition, father-in-law, Jim (Mary) Ark; grandmother-in-law, Dorothy Marsh, both of Stoughton; brothers-in-law: Jim, Eric and Bob; sister-in-law, Corina; nieces and nephews: Miranda, Emma and Scott. He was preceded in death by his father, Rollie "Puggy" Plautz; and mother-in-law, Nancy Asleson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with the Rev. Carl Seeger officiating. Burial will be in the Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, US HWY 51 S, Edgerton, on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the CHURCH on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
