Ferdinand A. "Sport" Lange, Belleville/Fort Atkinson, WI  (1932 - 2013)

Ferdinand "Sport" A. Lange, 80, passed away on Feb. 16, 2013, at Abilities Assisted Living in Whitewater, WI. He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Evansville, WI, to Helen (Spencer) and Willie F. Lange on their second wedding anniversary. He grew up on the Lange Farm in Belleville, WI. In 1956, He was drafted into the Army. On June 7, 1958, Sport married Mayre Lou Thorson and they farmed on the home place from 1958-1965.
Sport is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Cole of Mt. Carroll, IL, and Carol Sather of Brooklyn, WI; two granddaughters, Aaron Sather and Tiffany Cole; a brother, William (Geri) Lange of Belleville, WI; a sister, Jean Ann Fleck of Milton, WI; a very dear friend, Carol Wegner of Jefferson, WI; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his Dad on Feb. 10, 1967; Mom on April 22, 1979; his wife, Mary Lou, on April 22, 1989; grandson, Ben Sather on Jan. 1, 1998; brother-in-law, Wayne Fleck on Jan. 24, 2013; son-in-law, Rick Sather in 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, Milton, with Rev. Herb Saunders officiating. Military rites will follow the service. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the CHURCH from 12 p.m. until the start of the service. ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, MILTON, are assisting the family with arrangements.
