LaFerne E. Kieffer, 92, of County Road ES, Elkhorn, WI, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, WI. She was born April 18, 1920, in Nappanee, IN, the daughter of the late Guy LeRoy and Susie (Hoffer) Hall. LaFerne was united in marriage to Gene A. Kieffer on July 7, 1941, in Elkhart, IN. LaFerne was a homemaker who was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
LaFerne is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gene; eight children: Cecelia M. Britton of San Antonio, TX, Gloria E. Kieffer of Colorado Springs, CO, Gene A. (Teresa) Kieffer of San Antonio, TX, Gary V. Kieffer of Elkhorn, WI, Robert G. (Melanie) Kieffer of Plano, TX, Gregory A. (Ginger) Kieffer of O’Fallon, IL, Debra L. Davis of San Antonio, TX, and Mary Y. (Mark) Huntington of Appleton, WI; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Devon) Hartzell of Nappanee, IN; two brothers, Herman (Doris) Hall of Goshen, IN, and Lyle (Carol) Hall of Bremen, IN. LaFerne was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Doris Wagner; four brothers: Glenora, Donivon, Dewey and Richard Hall.
Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at HAASE-LOCKWOOD & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI, with Father Michael Dineen officiating. Friends may call at the FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made in LaFerne’s name to the American Cancer Society.
