Leslie "Les" Lockhart, Elkhorn, WI (1934 - 2013)

Leslie “Les” Lockhart, 78, of Stallman Road, Elkhorn, WI, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. He was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Cook County, IL, the son of the late Paul and Virginia (Horban) Lockhart. Les was united in marriage to Carol M. Junker on Oct. 23, 1955, in Stanley, WI. He served his country for over 24 years with the US Army National Guard. Les worked as dairy herdsman for over ten years with Verpana Farms in Darien, WI, and Ruby Acres in Elkhorn, WI. In 1965, Les bought and started Lockhart’s Service Station and Towing at Abell’s Corners, which he owned and operated until he retired in 2001. Les was an active member of the DAV of Burlington, WI, which he served as commander and chaplain. He was a member of the Elkhorn VFW Post # 6375, where he served as treasurer. Les had three loves in his life: his God, his country, and his family and he was a devoted servant to them all. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Les is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol; five children: Linda (Rick) Rossetti of Elkhorn, WI, Judy (Wayne) Kielisch of Hartford, WI, Gary (Chris Williams) Lockhart, Dennis (Wendy) Lockhart and Mark (Natalie) Lockhart, all of Elkhorn, WI; 18 grandchildren: Tony, Jason, Christine, Chanin, Brandon, Morgan, Elizabeth, Chelsie, April, KJ, Travis, Ethan, Amanda, Nathan, Jordan, Taylor, Jadeyn and Marlie; four great-grandchildren: Lillian, Ava, Max and Bowyn; two sisters, Cynthia (Stanley) Warminski of Stanley, WI, and Marion Lockhart of Abbotsford, WI; four brothers: Walter Lockhart of Gilman, WI, Sam (Linda) Lockhart of Wausau, WI, Daniel Lockhart of Colorado Springs, CO, and Robert (Beverly) Lockhart of Warrenville, IL. He is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Les was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger James; and one brother, Paul Lockhart, Jr.
Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 111 N. Broad Street, Elkhorn, with Rev. Joyce Rich officiating. Burial will be Monday at Mt.
