Marilyn Doris O'Donnell, Janesville, WI  (1934 - 2013)

April 3, 1934 - February 9, 2013
Marilyn Doris O'Donnell, age 78, a lifelong Janesville resident, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at her home, with her dear friend and neighbor by her side. She was born April 3, 1934, in Janesville, the only child of the late Arthur and Doris (Manthei) O'Donnell. She was a graduate of Janesville High School, Class of 1953. Marilyn worked at Elliott's Clothing Store for years until their closing. She then worked for over 30 years at St. Elizabeth's Home as a Resident Companion, and was working up until her health declined several months ago. She was a "natural caregiver", as she took wonderful care of her aunt and uncle, George and Alice Manthei. Marilyn enjoyed spending time at the family cabin up north, gardening, reading, cooking and creating yummy desserts, fishing, quilting, sewing and cross stitching. She was a collector of dolls, and also made dolls by hand. She was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Badgers fan, and loved spending time with her friends and adoptive family! She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Marilyn is survived by her cousins; her neighbors, Aaron Schumacher and Sherry (Earl Greer) Quass-Trappe; her adoptive family, David and Mary Quass, all of Janesville, Ashley (George) Trappe of Monroe, WI, Amber (Justin Geffers) Trappe of Beloit, WI; adoptive grandchildren: Dalton Walker, Emily Trappe,Chloe-Mae Trappe, Bayleigh Geffers, Brighton Muth, Violet Geffers, and a
new baby due in September. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the FUNERAL HOME.
