Annette R. "Annie" Derus, Janesville  (1933 - 2013)

Annette R. "Annie" Derus, age 79, of Janesville, formerly of Elgin, IL, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2013, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center surrounded by her family. She was born June 21, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Joyce) Jennings. She attended school in Chicago. Annie moved to Janesville to be closer to her daughter and her family, and has been living at St. Elizabeth's Manor for the past several years. Annie enjoyed crafts and creating costumes and outfits for most holidays, as the residents at "The Manor" will attest to! She also loved playing Bingo and Word Search. Her greatest joy was her family, and especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren!
Annie is survived by her three children: Karen (Bill) Orstrom of Henderson, NV, Joyce (Doug) Whitescarver of Janesville, and Brian Derus of Carrollton, TX; her four dear grandchildren: Philip (Sarah) Orstrom of Mesa, AZ, Cooper Whitescarver of St. Louis Park, MN, Lindsey and Melanie Whitescarver, both of Janesville; and by nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant granddaughter, Kayla Derus; three sisters; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Fr. Thomas Marr officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Annie's name would be appreciated to Agrace HospiceCare, 3001 W. Memorial Dr., Janesville, WI 53548, or to St. Elizabeth's Manor, 111 Commercial Dr., Footville, WI 53537.
