Richard C. Chesney, Brodhead, WI  (1929 - 2013)

Richard C. Chesney, age 83, of Brodhead, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI. He was born on Feb. 28, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the son of Peter and Julia (Sobolewski) Chesney. He married Peggy A. Johnson on April 27, 1957, in Chicago, IL.
Richard was the plant manager of the former APCO Mfg. in Brodhead. He also had worked for United Industries of Beloit before his retirement, and did seasonal work for Swiss Colony of Monroe. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. Richard enjoyed bowling, fishing, baseball, gardening and being with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Peggy; two daughters, Diana (Ken) Williams of Brodhead, WI, Teresa Kamps of LaCrosse, WI; a sister, Kay LaRosa of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Stan, Bill, Ed; and a sister, Agnes.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services. A memorial fund will be established. Online memorials may be made at www.dlnewcomerfuneralhome.com
