Linda M. Zimmerman, age 66, of Waunakee, and formerly of Janesville, died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at home. She was born in Sheboygan, WI, on March 1, 1946, the daughter of Frederic and Evelyn (Kroll) Stieghorst. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1964, and attended UW-Oshkosh for three years. Linda married Michael Zimmerman in Sheboygan, on May 20, 1967. She had been a Janesville resident for 40 years and moved to Waunakee, in 2008. She attended of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Janesville.
Linda is survived by her husband, Michael Zimmerman of Waunakee; two sons, John Zimmerman of Milton, and Charles (Kimberley) Zimmerman of Madison; one grandson, Cole Hudzinski of Madison; two sisters, Judith (John Mendel) Grollmus of Spokane, WA, and Carol Bird of Princeton, IL; and one brother, Dr. Michael (Dr. Sue Conley) Stieghorst of Middleton, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Richard Bird.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Dan Decker officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
