Beth Jean (Johnson) Weeden , Rural Richland Cty, WI (1923 - 2013)

RURAL RICHLAND CTY, WI—Beth Jean (Johnson) Weeden met her Savior face-to-face and joined her husband in Heaven on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. She was born on Oct. 26, 1923, in rural Richland County, WI, The second daughter of Augustus "Gus" Hoskins and (Nora) Pearl LeMoine Johnson. Beth attended area schools, but left early to marry her sweetheart, (William) Howard Weeden, at the age of 16 on Nov. 21, 1939. She later earned her GED. Beth accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early on and continued to base her life on that "firm foundation" for the rest of her life. As a result, she was a wonderful Christian wife, mother and friend. She was most recently associated with Grace Evangelical Free Church in Afton, WI. Beth was a lifelong reader and letter-writer. She also enjoyed various card games, road trips and anything to do with her family.
Beth is survived by her children: (Doris) Dawn Weeden of Janesville, Brian (Denise) of Janesville, and Larry (Beth) of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren: Nathan Weeden (Janet) of Ankeny, IA, Kevin Weeden (Kitty) of Minneapolis, MN, Amy (Frank) Millard of Janesville, and Matthew (Angela) Weeden of Centennial, CO; her great-grandchildren, Ella and Grace Millard of Janesville, and Patrick Weeden of Centennial; and countless friends. Beth was predeceased by her parents; her husband; brothers, Russell and Wayne; and a sister, Doris Ekstrom.
The family wished to heartily thank the nurses and aides of Rock Haven Nursing Home for the loving care they provided during Beth's stay.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at GRACE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH in Afton, WI, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. The cremains of both Howard and Beth will be interred at a private ceremony in the Fancy Creek Cemetery in Richland County.
