Kenneth E. White, age 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, WI. He was born April 28, 1923, in Boone Co. IL, to the late Perry and Marcia (Adams) White. Ken attended Kingston High School, class of 1941. He married Gladys (Reed) Oldenburg on Sept. 13, 1969. Ken worked for Beloit Corp., hauled fuel for Veedol and worked as a millwright for Chrysler, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed driving his 1960 Jeep in area parades, growing his cactus plants, fabricating metal artwork and working on and around automobiles. Ken and Gladys enjoyed many “driving” vacations throughout the United States visiting friends and family. He will be greatly missed, especially by his many friends at the Clinton Senior Center.
Kenneth is survived by his two daughters, Rosemary (Randall) Krueger and Sandy (Rick) Allen; his stepson, Wayne (Linda) Oldenburg; four grandchildren: Cathy (Jim) Wiersma, William (Naomi) Lathrop, Chad (Erin) Allen and Nicole (Jamie) Ditzenberger; his six step-grandchildren: Robbie Oldenburg, Melinda (Chad) Harwick, Dan (Phyllis) Oldenburg, Beth (Don) Post, Jeanne Oldenburg and Steve (Marcia) Allen; and by many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is further survived by two brothers, Stewart and Bud White; and three sisters, Madelyn Amrine, Elsie Gilbert and Karen Oldenburg.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys; his daughter, Marcia Johnson; his granddaughter, Joanne Johnson; his brother, Bob White; his sister, Lois Thoorsell; and his brother-in-law, Harry Oldenburg.
Kenneth’s Funeral Service will be at Noon on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, in the RIVER OF LIFE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 402 Church Street, Clinton, with Rev. David Carlson officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday in the CHURCH from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service the cortege will process to Mt. Philip Cemetery for interment.
