Norman Eugene Sadler, Roscoe, IL (1934 - 2012)

Norman Eugene Sadler, 78, Roscoe, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2012, in Rockford, IL. He was born on Sept. 10, 1934, to Herb and Mary (Clark) Sadler in Beloit, WI. Norm was a 1952 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School and Madison Business College in Madison, WI. He married Margaret Kelly Murphy, the widow of Peter Murphy of Janesville, on Nov. 25, 1961, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Janesville.
Norm is a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford, where he served as an usher and greeter for many years; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, AMBUCS, Chamber of Commerce and Winnebago Men’s Golf Association. He joined St. Thomas Church in Beloit, (where he had previously served as an altar boy), after moving to Roscoe. Norm retired from Rockford Molded Products where he was employed for 40 years. He was a die-hard Packers and Cubs fan. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Peg) of Roscoe; two children, Carol (Jeff) Mittel of Rockton, IL and Catherine (Keith) Stevens of Loves Park, IL; grandchildren, Mark, Katy, Karli Mittel, and Matt and Emily Stevens; sister-in-law, Bert Sadler; and sister Joanne (Chet) Kaminski, all of Beloit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ron Sadler.
There will be a funeral service Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford. Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 3 until 5 p.m. at SUNSET FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to the family.
