John G. "John Boy" Lund, Edgerton, WI  (1946 - 2012)

John G."John Boy" Lund, 66, a life long resident of Edgerton, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the Edgerton Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 8, 1946, in Edgerton, son of the late George E. and Bernice (Boyd) Lund. He was united in marriage on Dec. 28, 2011, to Janice Castle at Central Lutheran Church. John had worked for Edgerton Gear for 32 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards, going to the casinos, bowling, golfing, tending bar and socializing. His special love was spending time with his family and friends. John served in the United States Navy, from 1965 until 1967. John was a member of the Edgerton Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited and Waterfowl U.S.A.
John is survived by his loving wife, Janice of Edgerton; six sons: Josh (Becky) of Janesville, Tim (Molly) of Montgomery, IL, Jarett and Trevor, both of Edgerton, Joseph Castle and Jeffrey "Mickey" (Michelle) Castle, both of Milton, WI; five grandchildren: AJ Lund, Maddux Lund, Joseph Castle, Angelique Castle and Jayden Castle; three sisters: Marilyn (Bob) Kruckenberg, Carol Reynolds and Bonnie (Steve) Cease, all of Edgerton; two brothers, Bruce (Audrey) Lund of Edgerton and George (Colleen) Lund, of Tacoma, WA; and of course, his loving companions, Carmel and Brewster; many nieces; nephews; and cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Sommervold; and two brothers-in-law, Tuna Sommervold and Mike Sanger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with the Rev. James M. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Jenson Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES (US HWY 51 S) Edgerton, from 4 until 8 p.m., and at the CHURCH on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
