Robert James Blizard, Williams Bay, and Pleasant Prairie, WI (1921 - 2012)

Robert James Blizard of Williams Bay, and Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away at the Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the age of 91 years. Robert was born on Feb. 7, 1921, the son of George Blizard and Ellen Lawford in London, England. He served in the Royal Air Force from 1941 to 1946, attaining the rank of Corporal. During his service to the Crown, he married Doris Leigh who was in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force branch of the Royal Air Force.
After World War II, Robert became a joiner and carpenter in the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers. In 1958, he moved his family to Williams Bay, WI, and became a carpenter and woodworker in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. His craft led him to Gage Marine, Williams Bay, WI; where he helped build and detail several of the Lake Geneva Cruise Line boats as well as creating detailed work in several lake area homes.
Robert is survived by his son, Greg (Carolyn) Blizard of Fontana; daughter, Julia (Cecil) Logterman of Darien; six grandchildren: Michelle (Kevin) Tess of Burlington, Courtney Taplin of Delavan, Christopher Logterman of Darien, David Blizard of Fontana, Carleigh Logterman of Darien, and Roberta Blizard of Fontana; one great-grandson, Caiden Taplin; and his loving friend, Evangelyn Seligman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; his brother, Donald; and a sister, Betty.
There will be a private memorial service. The TOYNTON FUNERAL HOME in Walworth, WI. is assisting the family with arrangements.
