Ruth Hunter, age 87, of Janesville, died Oct. 13, 2012, at Cedar Crest. She was born on July 5, 1925, in Waukesha, WI, the daughter of Paul and Cora (McGreen) Bruhn. She married Maurice Hunter on July 26, 1948, in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1993. Ruth was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Janesville Moose Lodge. Ruth was a caring mother and grandmother who always thought of others before herself. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Ruth is survived by three children: Patricia (Leonard) Willing of Fort Wayne, IN, Jo Ellen (Tom) Schumacher of Baldwin, WI and Todd Joseph Hunter of Menasha; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Robert (Marge) Bruhn of Edgerton, WI, and Betty Enright of Eagle, WI; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Michael Hunter and Maurice “Butch” Hunter Jr.; and three sisters: Virginia, Janet and Catherine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at the ST. MARYS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Edgerton, WI. A visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
