Albert M. Perkins, Pecatonica, IL  (1947 - 2012)

Albert M. Perkins, 65, of Pecatonica, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Albert was born April 1, 1947, in Beloit, WI, to Robert and Thelma (Morrow) Perkins. He married the former Shirley Hallett in Janesville, WI, on Dec. 23, 1966. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army and a graduate of University of Wisconsin class of 1975, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. Albert was employed as a pharmacist most recently by Hilander, and previously by Swedish American and Rockford Memorial Hospitals. He was a member of the Rock Valley RC Flyers. Albert enjoyed demolition derbies and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Perkins of Pecatonica; one son, Michael Perkins of Pecatonica; two daughters, Christine (Steve) Laube of Durand, and Karen Foley of Pecatonica; grandchildren: Emily, Erica, and Deagan; three brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 1, 2012, at MCCORKLE FUNERAL HOME, 203 West Fifth Street, Pecatonica, with Pastor Mary Bielke, chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating. Private burial will be in 12 Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, at a later date. Cremation rites to be accorded. A visitation will be held at the FUNERAL HOME from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday.
