Lester C. Fritz, Fontana, WI  (1929 - 2012)

Lester C. Fritz, 83, of 148 Dewey, Fontana ,WI, died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. Lester was born Jan 17, 1929, in Blue Island, IL, the son of Joseph and Ina (Carlson) Fritz. He married Delores Wooley in 1955, in Blue Island, IL. He, then, married Laura Peterson in 1982, in Blue Island. Laura died in 2012. Lester was born and raised in Blue Island, IL. Lester worked at Illinois Brick Co. along with his father from 1947 to 1950, before serving two years in Korea in the US Army Corps of Engineers, operating heavy Construction Equipment. Lester was also employed by Rock Island Railroad and worked in the rail yard in Blue Island for a short time. He retired from Illinois Gas Co. (Nicor). He was a welder and did construction for 35 years, after which he and his wife Laura moved to Fontana. An avid Bird Watcher, he also enjoyed fishing, cooking and being outdoors and, of course, always loved playing his music for all to enjoy.
Lester is survived by three sons: Gary (Mindy) Fritz of Fontana, Brian Fritz of Kankakee, IL, and James (Jimmy) (Sue-Sue) Fritz of Walworth, WI; and one sister, Grace (George) Steger of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura; and one son, Raymond.
Lester's family and friends are invited for a short service at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30th, at the BETZER FUNERAL HOME in Delavan, WI.
