David E. Carlson, Janesville, WI (1956 - 2012)

David E. Carlson, age 56, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Janesville, on Feb. 1, 1956, the son of Elmer and Gertrude (Sterricker) Carlson. David was a lifelong resident of Janesville. He married Sidney Fox on Aug. 20, 2002, in Rockton, IL. He was a member of UAW Local 95 and also a Milton FFA Alumni member. David worked for General Motors for 30 ½ yrs until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his very special wife, Sidney, and special time with his grandkids.
David is survived by his beloved and courageous wife, Sidney; brother, Charles (Kate) Carlson of Janesville; six sisters: Beverly and Rosie Carlson, both of Janesville, Jeanne Carlson of Arkansas, Mureal (Russell) Isly of Rockford, IL, Sandra Carlson of Tucson, AZ, and Donna (Dale) Alger of Shiocton, WI; mother-in-law, Karen Fox of Janesville; two brothers-in-law, David Fox of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jeffery Fox of Janesville; four special adult children: Nate (Bre) Holmes of Beloit, Justin (Jen) Holmes and Joshua (Kathy) Holmes, both of Janesville, and Mandi (Rick) Heimann of Hartland; 16 wonderful grandchildren: Logan, Riley, Mason, Samantha, Taylor, Cassandra, Jordan, Brianna, Caity, Hailee, Kristine, Brandon, Haiden, Kaiden, Kallie and Kade; many nieces and nephews; two special loving dogs, Ziggy and Gizmo; and a very special friend, ‘like a brother who could never be replaced”, Dick Mc Keown. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Andrea Coull Bickle; nephew, Ty David Pierce; two sisters, Nanci Olson and Kathryn Orsborne; father-in-law, Darrell Fox; brother-in-law, James Fox; and his faithful and beloved companion, Kipper.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at TRINITY FREE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Jon Benson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, from 3 until 6 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville.
