Agnes P. Bennett, 90, of Burlington, WI, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Kindred Health Care, Burlington, WI. Agnes was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Coon Rapids, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Reed) Knight. She was united in marriage to Percy H. Bennett on Feb. 14, 1942, in Maryville, MO. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2007. She was employed for 25 years at Spurgeons Dept. Store in Burlington, WI, retiring in 1986.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn (Henry) Roth of Burlington; and Doris (Clarence) Gauger of Lake Geneva; two sons, Robert (Kay) George of Michigan City, IN, and Henry (Elaine) Bennett of Burlington; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; her sisters: Lucille (Max) Higley of Roseville, CA; Hazel (Marvin) Lowe of Riverside, CA, Ruth Maas of Council Bluff, IA; and a brother, Melvin Knight of Des Moines, IA. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald and Cecil Knight; and a sister, Inez Phipps.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24th, at the STEINKE FUNERAL HOME, Lake Geneva, with Rev. Daniel Vojta of the Peace Lutheran Church of Burlington, officiating. Burial will be at the Hudson Cemetery, Lyons, WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of Services.
