Terrance "Terry" Kent Best, age 70, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at home. He was born Jan. 3, 1942, in Stoughton, WI, the son of Gene and Marita (Lamb) Best. Terry enjoyed cooking, grilling out and gardening. He liked to play cards, socialize with family and friends, and watch sports, especially Nascar. He had a great sense of humor and always had a story to tell.
Terrance is survived by his mother, Marita Best of Evansville; two children, Edward Best of Stoughton and Teresa "Tess" Thruman of Cottage Grove, WI; two sisters, Marlys Dobson of Phillips and Roberta (Ken) Ostrander of McFarland; two grandchildren, Paul (Jeannie) Thruman and Justin Best; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ellen Steig of Evansville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Gene; a son, Thomas; and a brother, Miles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, 130 South 5th Street, Evansville with Reverend Janice Diefenthalher Evansville, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME on Friday. Condolences maybe expressed at Wardhurtley.com
