Barbara E. Bruns, Milton, WI  (1946 - 2012)

Barbara E. Bruns, 65, of Milton, WI, passed away Nov. 12, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Barb was born on Nov. 18, 1946, in Prairie du Chien, WI. She was the youngest child of Arnold and Agnes (Miller) Bouska. She married the love of her life, Edward W. Bruns, on Oct. 19, 1968, after being introduced by each of their sisters only nine months prior. Barb had a love of working with the public at many retail positions, Bostwicks, Shoetique, Sheehan Shoes, Ace Hardware and most recently Crowley's Piggly Wiggly in Milton. Barb enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and is well known for her baby blankets made and given with love. She also enjoyed spending time with her family who meant the world to her.
Barb is survived by her husband, Edward Bruns; her children: Bridgett (Barton) Christianson, Paul (Rachel) Bruns and Annette (Jim) Nagle; as well as her grandchildren: Eric (Ashley Fry) Gudgeon; Ashley, Kaitlyn, Haley and Rylee Bruns, Sonia, Nadia, Marina and Karina Arteaga and Brad and Sarah Christianson; and by six great grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters: Susan (William) Pixler, Cathy (Loren) Vondrum and Judi (Arthur) Bresnahan; her father in law: Edward Bruns, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Irene Von Ruden, Sue (Gary) Sandvig, Sharon Traxler, Ivan (Candee) Bruns, and Duane (Karen) Bruns, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Maude Bruns; brother, Robert Bouska; brothers-in-law, Vern Webster, Lambert Von Ruden, Alan Traxler; and by her niece, Nancy Boylen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milton, with Father William Hower and Msgr. James Uppena co-officiating. Visitation times will be Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES, LLC, 828 S. Janesville St., MILTON, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the CHURCH.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Barb's family would like to thank Dr. Emily Robinson, all oncology nurses as well as her home health care and hospice nurses who showed such care and compassion to her.
