Gary A. Fish, age 69,of Jefferson, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa. He was born on Sept. 21, 1942, in Loganville, WI, the son of Arthur and Gaby (Wohling) Fish. He started working with his father in a drainage business. He then went to work at Badger Ordinance and continued with them for 10 years. In 1972, he founded Wisconsin Plastic Drain Tile Corp. in Madison. He expanded his operation in 1978 with a plant in Albion, WI, and in 1994 in Jefferson. He was a self-made man; a true entrepreneur and pioneer in his field with the American Spirit, continually expanding his business until his untimely passing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cottage Grove and Madison; Land Improvement Contractors Assoc. in WI, IA, IL, and MN; Farm Bureau; National Plastics Society of Engineers and Unified Drainage Cooperative Assoc.
Gary is survived by his daughters: Dawn Albrecht of Sun Prairie, Wendy (Nick) Stalker of Cottage Grove, and Heather Fish of Stoughton; grandchildren: Shay Albrecht, Logan Albrecht, Sage Schauff and Shelby Schauff; special friend, Dee Williams of Lodi, WI; sisters and brothers: Leah (Clifford) Schweppe of Prairie du Sac, Barbara (Alfred) Schneider of Columbus, Dona (Stanley) Swanson of Waupun, Mary Ellen (John) Voltz of Mauston, Robert Fish of Baraboo, Patricia Weldy of Baraboo, Mark Fish of Waupun, Vicki (Kenneth) Martinson of Oregon, Carla Fish of Loganville, Sherri (Scott) Handley of Edmonds, WA; sisters-in-law, Sharon Fish of Milton and Helen Fish Van Dyke of Bullhead City, AZ; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Arthur Jr., Franklin, Lewis and Garth.
We honor Gary’s life with a funeral service on Friday, May, 18, 2012, at 12 Noon in GREENWOOD CEMETERY CHAPEL IN GREENWOOD CEMETERY, Reedsburg, WI. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the FARBER FUNERAL HOME and again on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the GREENWOOD CHAPEL. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the Masonic Children’s Hospital
