Curtiss LeRoy Rucker, Janesville  (1924 - 2012)

Curtiss LeRoy Rucker, 87, of Janesville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 15, 1924, in Pittsfield, IL, son of the late Fay and Pearl Rucker. He was united in marriage on Oct. 4, 1943, to Ivy Bruno, in England. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2011.
He had owned and operated his own auto dealership, Car City in Janesville. He enjoyed cars, traveling, fishing, going to the casinos and rummage sales, but his special love was spending time with his family and friends. He was in the United States Army and fought in WW II.
Curtiss is survived by two granddaughters, Evelyn Dyer-Schachtschneider of Beloit and Rebekah Glass of Troy, MO; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Ruckers of Colorado. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Rucker; one brother; and one sister.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, (US HWY. 51 S.), Edgerton, with the Rev. David Brynelson officiating. A celebration of Curtiss's life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Full Military services will be held at the funeral home, by the Edgerton Memorial Squad following the service.
