Willard "Bud" Babcock, Janesville  (1919 - 2012)

Willard “Bud” Babcock, age 92, of Janesville, died on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Edgerton Care Center Nursing Home, Edgerton. He was born on Nov. 28, 1919, in Edgerton the son of LeRoy and Florence (Wille) Babcock. Willard graduated from Edgerton High School and served in the U.S. Army. He married Doris Rowe in 1946 in Australia, and she died in 1998. Willard had been employed at General Motors, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Cargill United Methodist Church, UAW Local 95, started the UAW Monday night bowling league at Playmore Bowl, and loved fishing and the outdoors.
Willard is survived by four children: Lee (Mary) Babcock of Janesville, Lynette (John) Hunter of Topeka, KS, Barb (Dennis) Condon of Minocqua, WI, and Steve Babcock of South Dakota; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three sisters: Vera Schmeling of Edgerton, Marion Simmons of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Jean (Karl) Thom of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and six sisters: Madeline, Leona, Violet, Florence, Hazel and Kay.
