Margie Jean Lantz, Janesville  (1947 - 2012)

Margie, Jean Lantz, 64, a longtime Janesville resi-dent, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 17, 2012, at the Agrace Hos-piceCare Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, Fitchburg, WI, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Richardton, ND, the daughter of Joseph & Frances (Greff) Roth, Jr. She attended and graduated from High School in Mott, ND. On Jan. 31, 1970, she married Richard J. Lantz in Mott, ND. After moving to Janesville, Margie worked for BP Amoco, Cambeck Petrolium, WEBCO, VanGalder Tour & Travel, was a receptionist at Dean Riverview Clinic, and was working in the office at Prairie Avenue Concrete until the time of her passing.
Margie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. She was very active in softball and racquetball leagues in the area in her younger years. She was an active volunteer at both Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center and at Beloit Memorial Hospital. She deeply loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her beloved grandson, Ethan! She also will be missed by her friends in her regular coffee group.
Margie is survived by her husband, Richard; her son, Allan (Laura) Lantz of Waukesha, WI; her mother, Frances Roth; her brother, Duane (Cleora) Roth; her sister, JoAnn (Martin) Decker, all of Dickinson, ND; her grandson, Ethan Lantz of Waukesha, WI; and by nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Roth, Jr., and an infant brother, Roger Roth.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 315 Cherry St., with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Inurnment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum Columbarium. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, JANESVILLE, 21 S. Austin Rd., or on Tuesday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH.
