Mary C. Hamlin, age 96, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at home. She was born in Janesville on July 17, 1915, the daughter of William and Stella (Morris) McAuliffe. She married Albert Hamlin in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on March 22, 1941, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1998. Mary had been a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Catholic Women’s Club, Janesville Woman’s Club, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, and the Rock County Historical Society.
She is survived by her three children: Susan (James) Hatch of Milwaukee, Patricia Hamlin of Chicago, and Richard (Mary) Hamlin of Janesville; two grandchildren, Patrick and William Hamlin; and three sisters: Ellen Holmberg and Rita Roherty of Janesville and Sally (Robert) Sergenian of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, William McAuliffe and James McAuliffe; and sister, Elizabeth Allen.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Rev. Randy Timmerman officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH. Lasting Memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic School or Friends of Hedberg Public Library.
