Frank Harlen Bennett, Beloit (1940 - 2012)

Frank Harlen Bennett, 71, of Beloit, WI, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Rock Haven Nursing Home, Janesville, WI. He was born on July 22, 1940, in Davenport, IA, the son of Harlen and Betty (Crum) Bennett. Frank graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1959 and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 until 1964. He married Lina E. Eyre on March 21, 1964.
Frank was employed by Wisconsin Power & Light for 31 years, retiring in 1995. After retirement Frank and Lina lived in Winter, WI, for 9 years and then returned to Beloit. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lina Bennett of Beloit, WI; three sons: Frank (Andrea) Bennett Jr. of Appleton, WI, Michael (Renee) Bennett of Janesville, WI, and John (Nikki) Bennett of Beloit, WI; grandchildren: Garrett, Sarah, Cassie, Alexis, Taylei, Jordan, and Dayton; brothers, Ron (Julia) Bennett of Naples, FL, and Sam (Janet) Bennett of Beloit, WI; sisters-in-law: Ellie (George) Hooker, Roberta (Ron) Woods, Jane Viles, Mary (Karl) Steffen, and Margaret (Dale) Woodard; many nieces and nephews, and special close friends, Lenice and Frank Holcomb.
Frank’s family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Rock Haven Nursing Home, Beloit Regional Hospice, Agrace HospiceCare, Dr. Stephen Rudisill and our church family from Grace Evangelical Free Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; three grandsons: Jason, Kelly, and Austin; and brothers-in-law, Don Viles and Stephen Lee.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at GRACE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 6403 S. Cty Trunk D, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Dennis Anderson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Town of Rock Cemetery, Afton, WI. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday in the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 1 p.m. until the time of service Friday in the CHURCH.
Memorials may be given in his name to Agrace HospiceCare, Grace Evangelical Free Church or the Alzheimer’s Support Group.
