Arthur Edward Lewis, CMSGT Retired U.S.A.F., 83, of Janesville, died at his home Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. He was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Halls, TN, the son of Ansel and Mittie (Lovelace) Lewis. He married Marianna Vich on Aug. 11, 1952. Arthur served in the U. S. Air Force and the Air Force Reserve for 36 years. He was also employed as a journeyman millwright by Borg-Warner for 33 years. Arthur was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the V.F.W., SGTS Assoc. and the Lions.
Surviving are his wife, Marianna; two daughters, Claudia P. (William) Houterman and Catherine Mae Lewis; three sons: Edward A. (Beth) Lewis, Timothy C. (Cindy) Lewis, and Kenneth Scott (Neary) Lewis; and six grandchildren: Elliott Houterman, Nathan Lewis, Allison Lewis, Jared Lewis, Sierra Syverud, and Chad Wilmarth. He was preceded in death by a daughter who died at birth, Mary; his brother, Harold Lovelace; and two sisters, Alma McDonald and Flora Sheridan.
Private family funeral services will be held at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621.
