Merdes Jean Boggs, Janesville  (1946 - 2012)

Merdes Jean Boggs, beloved wife of Theodore Boggs, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born May 24, 1946, in Richland Center, WI, to Harlan and Maxine (Barlow) Sime. She grew up in Readstown, WI, before marrying Theodore Boggs on Sept. 15, 1962, in rural Crawford County. Together they moved to Janesville, where they raised their five children. In 1972, she dedicated her life to Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her great love of people and gregarious personality lead her to share her faith with many, volunteering her time and efforts.
Merdes is survived by her husband of fifty years, Theodore Boggs of Janesville; her five children: Kelly DiFiore of Janesville, Jodi (Steve) Scidmore of Janesville, Michael (Rebecca) Boggs of Williams Bay, WI, Daniel (Kelly) Boggs of Stevens Point, WI, and Ryan Boggs of Blue Mounds, WI; ten grandchildren: Ashley, Kaitlin, A.J, Colton, Deaken, Madeline, McKenzie, Jackson, Harrison, Griffin; and one great-grandson, Theodore; her mother, Maxine Sime of Readstown, WI; two brothers, Harlan (Patti) Sime and Monte (Cheryl) Sime; three sisters: Harline, Rahna, Melanie; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, 4129 E. Bingham Rd., Janesville. A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at KINGDOM HALL. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the family.
