Judith "Judy" Hergert, Orfordville, WI (1944 - 2012)

Judith “Judy” Hergert, 68, passed into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at home. She was born May 7, 1944, in Lake Villa, IL, the daughter of Henry and Luella (Strauch) Eastman. Judy graduated from West DePere High School in 1963. She married Roger P. Hergert on June 11, 1966, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in DePere, WI. In 1968, they moved to the Orfordville area, where they raised their five children. Besides being a housewife and mother, Judy worked at Caravilla from 1988-1995, where she received several letters of commendations for her perseverance and determination under extreme circumstances, and for her dedication and compassionate care to others. Judy was a very generous, sweet, nurturing woman with a strong Christian faith who always put others before herself.
Judy is survived by her husband, Roger of 46 years; daughters, Diana (Tom) Stiff of Tomahawk, WI, Donna (Todd) Suer of Orfordville; sons: James of LaCrosse, WI, Richard of Gladstone, MO, and Samuel of Orfordville; eight grandchildren: TJ Morris, Alyssa Hergert, Jastine Lucht, Terre Morris, Jason Hergert, Brandon Stiff, Ian Suer, and Evan Suer; one great-grandaughter, Angel Lucht; her mother, Luella (Strauch) Demske; brothers: Ira Eastman, Edward (Mary) Eastman, Paul (Jean) Eastman, and Lindy Eastman; one sister, Susan Burdick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Eastman; brother, Arnold; sister, Rebecca Molzahn; and grandson, Matthew Hergert.
A memorial service will be held at NEWCOMER-SILVERTHORN CHAPEL ON THE HILL, Hwy 11 and South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, WI, on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 1 p.m.
