John T. "Big John" Kuijer, Janesville  (1928 - 2012)

John T. “Big John” Kuijer, age 84, of Janesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Huntington Place. He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 14, 1928, the son of Theodore and Karmen Kuijer. He married Inger Hansen on June 2, 1951, then came to America with $50.00 in his pocket, and was not able to speak any English. John worked in the Dairy Industry until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed feeding the birds and small animals that visited his yard daily.
John will be missed by his two sisters, Johanna of Denmark, and Elin (John) of Sweden; two daughters, Harriet (Rudy) Cariello of Racine, and Annette (George) of Janesville; three grandchildren: Paul (Susan) of North Carolina, Jeremy of Edgerton, and Danielle of Beloit; and one great-grandchild, Autumn. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inger; brother-in-law, Henning; grandson, Christopher; and granddaughter, Melisa.
