Marvin H. Sargent, Janesville, WI  (1937 - 2012)

Marvin H. Sargent, 75, of Janesville, passed away Dec. 18, 2012, at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. Marv was born in Madison, WI, on Sept. 2, 1937, the son of Albert G. and Florella (Pien) Sargent. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a postal clerk by the Madison Post Office for 28 years prior to retiring May 6, 1990. He had been a Janesville resident since shortly after retiring. Marv was an avid sports fan who loved football, baseball and basketball, especially the Packers, Badgers and Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed playing bingo at the Janesville Senior Center and an occasional trip to the casinos. He looked forward to spending time at the family cabin by Stone Lake, WI, in the summertime.
Marvin is survived by his brother, Ron (Pat) Sargent of Mt. Horeb, WI, and their children, Bart (Sandy) Sargent of Blanchardville and Brett Sargent of Blue Mounds, WI; great-niece, Stefanie (Mike) Keim of Massillon, OH, and their children, Madison and Shane; great-nephews, Mathew Sargent of Blanchardville, WI, and Ross (Katlin) Sargent of Barneveld, WI; great-nieces, Brenna and Mandy Sargent of New Glarus, WI; his brother, Wayne (Diane) Sargent of Janesville, and their children, Denise Falk of Janesville and her sons, Brendan and Jordan; and D’ette Wagner of Madison, WI, and her daughter, Jessica (Onu) Ikegboma, and their sons, Zachary and Nathan of St. Paul, MN, and her son, Kevin Miller of White Bear Lake, MN; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Sargent of Madison; cousins: Jean Younger of Madison and Jim (Caryl) Basset of Montello, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth; and numerous aunts; uncles and cousins.
Services will be at noon, Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville, with Chaplain John Froiland officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, WI. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon, Friday at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Wright Home, 637 North Wright Road, Janesville, WI 53546
