William F. Burke, Delavan, WI  (1926 - 2012)

William F. Burke, 86, of 3575 Westshire Circle, Delavan, died at his home on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. Bill was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Francis and Lucille (Sullivan) Burke. For most of Bill's professional working life he sold insurance for Allstate Insurance Co. Bill married Marian Lorenz Sept. 3, 1949, in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Bill was an avid golfer and loved walking around the Delavan area. He was an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and its' R.C.I.A. Bill's endearing personality garnered him many friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marian of Delavan; three sons: Timothy (Pam) Burke of Portland, OR, Peter (Pamela) Burke of Las Vegas, NV, and Daniel (Joan) Burke of Schaumburg, IL; three daughters: Frances (Alan) Spoerlein of Inverness, IL; Nancy (John) Gruber of Elburn, IL; and Eileen (Terrance) Hardiman of Mt. Prospect, IL; one sister, Joan (John) Andersen of Buffalo Grove, IL; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Maureen and Marilou.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at ST. ANDREWS CATHOLIC CHURCH with the Rev. James Scheurman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, Dec. 20th from 4 until 8pm at the BETZER FUNERAL HOME in Delavan. Memorials to the Delavan Food Pantry are suggested.
