Mary Jane Isabelle Axcell, 81, of Edgerton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 7, 1931, in Amberg, WI, daughter of the late Francis and Mabel (Duenn) Beattie. She was united in marriage on March 17, 1956, to Robert Walter Axcell, Sr., at the United Methodist Church, Edgerton. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton.
Mary Jane and Robert were the proprietors of the Lake House for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, going to St. Vincent De Paul, mowing her lawn and just being outdoors. Her special love was spending time with her family. Mary Jane was a WACS from 1951-1956, stationed in Okinawa, during the Korean War.
Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert of Edgerton; one daughter, Tina (Jeffrey) Grams of Edgerton; two sons, Robert "Skipper" (Cindy) Axcell, Jr. of Edgerton, and Daniel (Tracy) Axcell of Dyersburg, TN; seven grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Justin, Jacob, Katie Jane, Danny and Erica; two great-grandchildren, Kailynn and Kenzie; four sisters: Jean Ylivisaker of Edgerton, Dorothy Whitaker of Oakland, OR, Karen (Harry) Mathias of Stephenson, MI, and Debbie (Gary) Edwards of Yelm, WA; one brother, Jack Beattie of Amberg, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Scott; one grandson, Robert; four sisters: Marilyn, Joan, Marion and Sandy; two brothers, Robert and Francis "Bud".
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with the Rev. James M. Johnson Officiating. Burial will be in Jenson Cemetery.
