Burton Charles Benson, 77, of Mauston, WI, died on Dec. 12, 2012, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL. He was born on March 11, 1935, in Mauston, WI, a son of Theodore S. and Lillian M. (Teinen) Benson. Burt served in the US Army and was employed as a production foreman for General Motors for 35 years before he retired on June 1, 1992. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Benson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jo-Ann (Erdman) Benson; brothers: Robert L. Benson of Reedsburg, WI, John T. (Debbie) Benson of Mauston, WI, and David A. (Marie) Benson of Milton, WI; sister, Kristi (Charlie) Denson of Thompson Falls, MT; brother-in-law, Marvin Merk of Necedah, WI; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Merk.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 701 Grove Street, Mauston, WI, 53948 where the family will receive friends after 10 a.m.
