Irvin "Irv" F. Felda, Janesville (1930 - 2012)

Irvin “Irv” F. Felda, age 82, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. He was born in Oshkosh, on June 17, 1930, the son of Fred and Pauline (Hartman) Felda. He attended Oshkosh Public Schools, graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1948, and Oshkosh Business College in 1950. Irv married Janice Fraedrick in Oshkosh, on May 2, 1953. He managed K-Mart Stores in Chicago, East St. Louis, La Crosse, Bridgeton, MO, and then the Janesville store in 1971. Irv went on to work as a K-Mart District Manager for Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois before retiring in February of 1988. He was a member and past president of Janesville Optimist Clubs (Tuesday morning and Thursday noon). Irv was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (past president of the church council) and was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. He enjoyed fishing, goose and duck hunting, golf, duck decoy carving, and especially spending time with his family at the lake and watching his grandkid’s activities.
Irv is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice; five children: Connie (Larry) Masterson of Janesville, Mike (Lynda) Felda of Machesney Park, IL, Donn (Sharon) Felda of Janesville, Julie (Chuck) Lindgren of Janesville, and Karen (John) Wood of Janesville; 17 grandchildren: Stephanie Masterson, Laurie Felda, Jennifer Philipps, Shelly Felda, Brian Felda, Catherine West, Michelle Slagoski, Heather Leonard, Jason Felda, Rachael Felda, Christine Krause, Megan Lindgren, Ron Lindgren, Tom Lindgren, Scott Wood, Nick Wood, and Amy Henneger; 13 great grandchildren with two more on the way next year; and a sister, Marion Dake of Waupaca. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Ed Dake.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Steven Ekblad officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville.
