Wayne I. Drake, Janesville, WI  (1940 - 2012)

Wayne I. Drake, age 72, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at home. He was born Jan. 31, 1940, in Crawford County, WI, the son of Sidney and Pearl (Kihne) Drake. Wayne married Nancy Bellars Nov. 12, 1966, in Rockford, IL. She died on Oct. 12, 2003. Wayne served in the U. S. Army and was discharged in 1969. He had retired from GM Assembly Plant in Janesville. He loved to dance and sing, hunting, fishing, coaching little league baseball and playing cards.
Wayne is survived by his three daughters: Cheryl Clankie of Janesville, Monica Veneman of Beloit, WI, and Kim Drake of Janesville; two sons, Steve (Linda) Clankie of Brodhead, WI and Kevin Drake of Evansville, WI; six grandchildren: Erica Veneman, Heather Clankie, Trevor, Dylan, April and Michaela Drake; three great-grandchildren: Gage, Kaiden and Karter; brother, Floyd; sisters: Florence Dobson, Grace Hermanson, Frances Drake and Pamela Meyer; many nieces; nephews; and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; brothers, Jonathon and Arthur; and a sister, Dorothy Schwehr.
Funeral services will be held at the NEWCOMER-SILVERTHORN CHAPEL ON THE HILL, Hwy 11 and South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the FUNERAL HOME on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
