Raymond Edward Richter, Janesville, WI  (1921 - 2012)

Raymond Edward Richter, 91, a life-long Janesville resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at his son and daughter-in-law’s home in Appleton, WI, where he and his wife have been staying for the past few months due to failing health. Raymond was born in Janesville on Nov. 13, 1921, the son of Edward F. and Emily (Griesbach) Richter. Raymond grew up in Janesville, attended Janesville schools and graduated from Janesville High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Corps from Dec. 14, 1943 to Nov. 1, 1945. Raymond married Winifred Hamm on May 26, 1951. He was employed by General Motors for 25 years prior to retiring. Raymond was a member of Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621 and the War Birds.
Raymond Richter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Winifred Richter, who is currently residing in Appleton, WI; his son and daughter-in-law, Edward B. (Diane M. Ziegler) Richter of Appleton; two grandchildren, Emily A. Richter of Washington, DC and Nicholas E. Z. Richter of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Raymond’s brother-in-law, Pastor Louis Seifert will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of services at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
