David F. Dean, Sr., age 85, of Janesville, died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at home. He was born in Highland Park, IL, on July 3, 1927, the son of Melville and Helen (Regan) Dean. He graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Lake Forest College. David served in the U.S. Army, and married Nancy E. Turner in Highland Park, IL, on Sept. 6, 1952. He had been employed by Banker’s Life and Casualty for 46 years, and was a member of the Blackhawk Curling Club.
David is survived by his wife, Nancy Dean; two sons, David Dean, Jr. of Janesville and S. Turner (Linda) Dean of Gulf Stream, FL; three grandchildren: Ryan (Elizabeth), Brittany and Cameron; three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Carter and Ella; two brothers, Lawrence (Beverly) Dean of Tucson, AZ, and John (Sheila) Dean of Highland Park, IL; two sisters, June Farmer of Vernon Hills, IL, and Marge Canmann of Highland Park, IL; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Steven, Warren and Robert Dean; and three sisters: Dorothy Dostalek, Muriel Ronowski and Betty Olson.
According to his wishes, funeral services will be private and a memorial service will be held in the spring. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.
