Marie E. Hunt, age 76, of Beloit, WI, was promoted to glory on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Beloit Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 14, 1936, in Liverpool, England, the daughter of the late James and Cathrine (Edington) Routledge. In Nov. 1958, in Liverpool, England, she married James Harold John Hunt and they had one daughter. He predeceased her in 1975. Marie was a soldier in The Salvation Army and very active for many years before her health declined, serving as Home League Secretary for the Janesville Corps and Girl Guard Leader at the Madison Corps.
Marie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey-Colette Penn and Robert Allan Penn, Jr. M.D., and their children, Maureen Ashley Penn and Robert Allan Penn III.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME with Major Robert Fay officiating. Interment will be next to her husband at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison, WI. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made to the Salvation Army Summer Day Camp Scholarships.
