Lorraine L. Miller, Whitewater  (1911 - 2012)

Lorraine L. Miller, age 100, of Whitewater, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Fairhaven in Whitewater. Lorraine was born on Sept. 19, 1911, to Alvin and Caroline Horn in Harvard, IL. She was married to James B. Miller on March 7, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1974.
Lorraine was a mother and homemaker until she and Jim opened the Brass Rail Cocktail Lounge in Whitewater in 1964. She continued working at the Brass Rail until 1979. Lorraine was well known for her homemade soups, having published a small cookbook of her favorites for family and friends. She enjoyed playing poker, working crossword puzzles, and reading. She loved being with family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, James (Carol) and Thomas (Bonnie), both of Whitewater.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 16, in the CHAPEL AT FAIRHAVEN, with the Rev. N. Kendall Nordstrom officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorials be given to the Fairhaven Foundation. OLSEN FUNERAL HOME in WHITEWATER is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairhaven for their wonderful care given to Lorraine for the past several years.
