Norman M. Marshall, Antigo, WI & Bradenton, FL/Janesville  (1938 - 2012)

August 17, 1938 - April 5, 2012
Norman M. Marshall, 73, of Antigo WI, and Bradenton, FL., made his transition back home to spirit on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Blake Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Florida. He was born on Aug. 17, 1938, to Ernest and Mary (Fanta) Marshall in LaCrosse, WI, and graduated from the Hillsboro High School. Norman had the nicknames “Stormin Norman” and “Speedy” in his younger days and “Gramps” later on, appropriate for the many lifestyles he lived! We are grateful for the time we shared, the joy and the love, and we know that your true essence is eternal and with us.
Norman was united in marriage to Delores E. Novy on June 4, 1960, in Hillsboro. They resided in Janesville, WI, until moving to Antigo, WI, in 2002, and wintered in Bradenton, FL, for the last several years. Norman was employed by General Motors for 34 years until retiring early do to his health. He was the fortunate recipient of a heart transplant on July 13, 1997.
Norman enjoyed time with his family and friends, reading, 4-wheeling, hunting, antique car shows, and playing the slots at casinos. He loved looking out on the lake and the beauty in nature. The day he passed, he felt no pain and had no fear…he passed gently back to spirit in the arms of his loving wife, after complications from radiation and chemo. Norman was a genuine, honest, generous, and loving man who is deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
Norman is survived by his wife, Delores; daughters, Lori Marshall of Sarasota, FL; Kim Marshall of Janesville, WI; grandchildren: Brittaney, Brennan, and Zoe; great-grandchildren, Lark and Xen; as well as his dear brother, Larry (Linda) Marshall of Elroy; and many relatives and friends who thought the world of him.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Bessie Verbsky and Norma Jean Kaus.
A Celebration of Norman’s Life will be held sometime this summer. A special thank you to Deborah and Todd from Bradenton Hospice, for their comfort and spiritual light.
