William L. Kopelke, Delavan  (1926 - 2010)

William L. Kopelke, 83, Delavan, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Burr Oak Manor in Genoa City. He was born on June 18, 1926, in Milwaukee, WI, son of William and Jenny (Mezurek) Kopelke. He married Anna Marie Martin in 1948 in Milwaukee. William was the General Manager for Humphrey Cadillac and Oldsmobile in Rockford, IL, then in the late 70s, along with his partner, purchased the Whaling Chevrolet in Delavan (then known as Crest Cadillac and Chevrolet). He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna of Delavan; one daughter, Kimberly Gibbs of Lake Geneva; one son, Jeffrey Kopelke of Delavan; two grandchildren, Megan and Hannah; one sister, Shirley Ehlers of Milwaukee; one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at MONROE FUNERAL HOME, DELAVAN, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Burr Oak Manor or Home and Hospice Advantage. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, DELAVAN, is assisting the family.
