Madeline Steinmetz, Delavan  (1920 - 2010)

Madeline Steinmetz, 89, Delavan, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Holton Manor in Elkhorn. She was born on Oct. 25, 1920, in Rockford, IL, daughter of John and Ethel (Van Deventer) Steinmetz. She was a 1939 graduate of Darien High School. She was employed at Borg Instruments in Delavan for 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delavan. She was a member of the Senior Travel Club, as well as the Rachel Circle. She loved to garden and loved company all day.
She is survived by her niece, Sandra (David) Yeager of Texas; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins; and her dear friends, Marvin and Jeannette Boss of Delavan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Johnny, who passed away at birth, and Elmer, who passed away in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, DELAVAN, with Rev. Mike Ida officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the CHURCH. Burial will be at the Darien Cemetery in Darien. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. MONROE FUNERAL HOME, DELAVAN, is assisting the family.
