Kathyrn "Katie" Kristena Gilbertson, Janesville  (1929 - 2010)

Kathyrn "Katie" Kristena Gilbertson, 81, of Janesville, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Mercy Hospital. Kathyrn was born on Feb. 12, 1929, in Muscoda, WI, daughter of Richard S. and Cora A. (Knutson) Johnson. She attended Blue River Grade School and graduated from Blue River Union Free High School. She attended the U.W.-Madison for one year and one year at U.W.-Platteville. She married Robert D. Gilbertson on June 26, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boscobel, WI. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2001. Kathyrn was self-employed as a bookkeeper and tax preparer for many years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a former member of the Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club and the National and Rock County Association of Tax Preparers.
Surviving are three children: Scot D. Gilbertson of Janesville, Kathy Ann (Russell) Behrens Filip of Monticello, IA, and Richard (Donna) Gilbertson of Janesville; six grandchildren: Kelly (Colin) Kemp, Amber Gilbertson, Kristy (George) Behrens Miner, Thaddeus Behrens, Brent Gilbertson, and Tia Gilbertson; and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Kathyrn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Gilbertson; and a brother, Cornelius Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2921 Mt. Zion Ave., Janesville, with Pastor Paul Speerbrecher officiating. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
